What’s Manual lymphatic Drainage (MLD) And Palliative

What is MLD?

The MLD is a special type of medical massage.

The transport of lymph fluid in the lymphatic vessels is stimulated by gentle grip techniques. It is a building block of complex physical decongestion therapy (CPE) for the treatment of lymphoid and lipedema patients. It is also used after serious orthopaedic injuries or surgery to reduce symptoms such as swelling and pain.

Typical diseases for treatment with manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) • Lymphedema • Phlebo-lymphostatic edema • Posttraumatic/postoperative edema • Lipedema/lipolymphedema • Cyclic-idiopathic edema (period, hormonal problems and resulting migraines) • Musculoskeletal diseases associated with rheumatic diseases • Scleroderma • Complex regional pain syndrome (Sudeck’s disease)

Palliative

We provide palliative care for people with progressive and advanced incurable diseases while maintaining a limited life expectancy. Here we participate in the care of these patients alongside doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Palliative care patients with statutory insurance receive physiotherapy through a conventional prescription from their doctor.
